Do braces hurt when they are put on?
Do braces hurt when they are put on or when they are putting them on? When will it start really hurting?

My braces hurt like hell when I got them. What was suppose to take about hour installations took hours. I was in intesnse pain the whole time. Im well into adulthood, I dont know if that made a difference, but as I was in the chair being quotworked onquot I thought if this is what braces are like, I dont think I want these, but the ortodontist convinced me to get them. Im had them for a year and they are a royal pain, the flossing is annoying, and everything gets caught. The adjustments are also pretty painful, where the remove the wire, and have to clamp it back into place, a snap over every tooth with a little tool, that feels like its going to just crack the tooth off into the back of your throat. The thing that I hate the most are the elastic bands they give you to stretch from the top of your mouth, all the way to the back of your mouth, that are about the size of a pencil eraser in diameter. They strech and pull your teeth to the correct spaces, but the pain is unbearable. The last straw for me was the orthodontist telling me I would have to the wear the bands hours a day, only to be removed for eating. If you dont wear them the orthodontist will know cuz your teeth wont move, and he will not be happy with you. Im having my braces removed in July. I cant take it. I hope you have better luck. make sure and ask lots and lots of questions, and know exactly what you are getting into
